Whether using a PC or a Mac, we feel the need of customizing its looks to match our personalities. New Mac users often find it difficult to do simple things like changing the background wallpaper. Thankfully Mac OS also has a easy way of changing its wallpaper images. There are lot of iPhoto images to choose from in addition to pre-loaded as well as downloaded backgrounds. And the good news is that you do not need to restart your system to make this change, it happens instantly. The system also has the capability of resizing the picture so that it fits the size of the screen.
- To change the background of your Mac, go to the top left blue Apple icon and select system preferences after clicking on it. Select show all option from the preferences console.
- Now double click on the desktop and screen saver icon in the personal section. A new console will appear when you select ‘Desktop”. You will see all the options to select an image for your background here. In this console, Apple images as well as link to iPhoto library will be displayed along with recent backgrounds.
- The current image will be displayed in the console. One can easily understand the interface and select an image of his choice using this console. You can select from the in-build images like nature, landscapes etc, or download a new image from iPhoto. When you double click on any photo, it becomes your next background.
- If you want to use a photo stored in your Mac, click on choose folder, browse and select the photo stored in the system. There is option to rotate the photo also, if required. You can also choose multiple photos and time them using the given drop-down. That is it.
- Quit the console and see the newly updated background photo on your Mac.
